Frequently Asked Questions
A: The tour runs across three days and two nights. You check in at Khao Sok Jungle Hostel on Day 1 (from 2:00 p.m.), transfer to Cheow Lan Lake on the morning of Day 2, and return to Khao Sok by late afternoon on Day 3. Total on-tour time is roughly 54 hours from check-in to return.
A: This tour is better suited to teenagers aged 15 and above rather than young children. The Khao Sok 3 day 2 night tour is rated moderate and involves jungle walking, long-tail boat transfers, an after-dark night safari, and optional swimming in open water – activities that are not suitable for younger kids. For beginners, the package works well. There’s no technical climbing, treks are manageable, and your local guide handles all logistics, so first-time travelers to Thailand and anyone new to multi-day tours can book with confidence. If you’re traveling with children under 15 or have specific mobility concerns, contact us in advance so we can advise on fit.
A: A small backpack is all you need for the lake portion – leave your main luggage at the hostel free of charge. Pack lightweight clothing, swimwear, insect repellent, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, a quick-dry towel, a small flashlight or headlamp for the night safari, and a dry bag or waterproof pouch for the long-tail boat. A full packing list is included on the main tour page.
A: Krisorn Floating Bungalows have limited electricity. There is no Wi-Fi on the lake, and mobile signal is minimal to none depending on your carrier. Most guests treat it as part of the experience and download offline content before they leave Khao Sok.
A: November to April usually offers the clearest skies and calmest lake conditions, making it the most popular window for the 3 days 2 nights Khao Sok overnight lake tour. May to October is the green season – quieter on the lake, with fewer crowds and a fuller rainforest atmosphere. The tour operates year-round, and each season has its own character. If clear weather is a priority, book during the dry months; if you prefer a quieter experience, the green season is worth considering.
